Nick St.Oegger is a documentary photographer, whose interest in storytelling and the natural world was inspired by childhood journeys with his mountaineer grandfather.
His personal work explores the relationship between people and their natural surroundings, often focussing on communities threatened by environmental issues. He has spent several years following the impact of a hydropower boom in the Western Balkans, self publishing the photo book Kuçedra, about Europe’s last wild river in Albania.
Additionally, he takes on assignments for international NGOs, editorial and commercial clients including: Vice, Reuters, Le Monde, Libération, Polityka, De Standaard, Nieuwe Revu, Huck Magazine, The Calvert Journal, Suitcase Magazine, Point.51, Trip Advisor, Kosovo 2.0, Riverwatch, C41 Magazine, Culture Trip, and Patagonia.
He holds an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of Westminster. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections at the libraries of Oxford University, Cambridge University and Trinity College Dublin.
